"Preparing for a successful interview" (page 3/8)
Step 3: Research the process
To make sure you can prepare yourself, and make sure that you are not surprised when you get there, it makes sense to find out exactly what will happen when you get to your interview. You should make sure that you know the answers to the following questions:
- How many different sessions will I have during the day?
- How many people (and ideally who) will I be meeting at each session?
- What form will each session take? For instance, will they be one-to-one interviews, panel interviews, team exercises or individual written tests?
- How will this day fit into the entire selection process? Will there be further interviews, and if so, when are they likely to be?
Now that you have an idea of what you are going to be confronted with, you can start mentally preparing for your sessions, and also start preparing some answers to questions you know you will be asked, as well as preparing some questions to ask your interviewer.
