Perhaps your main reason for your career change is to relocate to an area with a lower cost of living, or better schooling or a better climate. Even if it isn’t, your career change might require a relocation – you won’t find many opportunities to be a ski instructor in San Diego, for example!
Relocating can be exciting but also stressful if you fail to plan for the upheaval. Make sure that you research and plan meticulously on all aspects of the relocation. What kind of house will you be able to afford in your new location? Where will your children go to school? Where will your partner be able to find work? Where will you make friends? How good are you at making new friends? How far away will you be from your current friends? Will they travel to meet up with you? Of course, there are countless other questions you will need to answer.
