Step 9 of a 10 step career change plan

The chances are, if you’ve been in your current position for a while, that your job-hunting skills could be quite rusty! So take the opportunity to brush up on these skills – you might only get one chance to make your career change successful!

Your experience will actually put you ahead of other job-hunters. For instance, you are far more likely to be adept at networking around the industry and talking to people currently in your chosen career to get their support for your career change.

Some of the job-hunting skills you may need to reacquire, however, include resume writing, cover letter writing and interviewing. While you may want to look for free resources to help you in these skills (for example on the Careerfriend website at http://www.careerfriend.com), you will probably be well-advised to examine some of the other options which exist.
